K-5 Math curriculum adoption

Posted Date: 3/20/24 (5:56 PM)

The North Bend School District is in the process of identifying a quality curriculum for Math at the elementary level (K-5). The district’s goal is to select a curriculum before the end of this school year. ‌Staff have reviewed state approved curriculums and narrowed the choice to Big Ideas - Oregon Math. Major factors used by staff when making the adoption recommendation include alignment with standards, scope and sequence of instruction, student engagement, family support, and ease of access.

We are now seeking public input on Big Ideas - Oregon Math (K-5) curriculum.  Sample copies are available to be reviewed at the district office during normal business hours (8:00-4:00). Materials can also be accessed using the following link, Big Ideas Math Materials. A link is attached for your input Math Curriculum Community Input/Review. Public input will be open March 20th to April 26, 2024, with the final recommendation for adoption being made to the school board at their normally scheduled May meeting. Implementation at the elementary level is expected to begin next school year, the fall of 2024.
